VIDEO Jaeger-LeCoultre Made of Makers ‘The 1931 Golden Orchid’ Brendi Wedinger TV commercial 2024 • Made of Makers: ‘The 1931 Golden Orchid’ by Brendi Wedinger | Jaeger-LeCoultre For each Made of Makers collaboration, Jaeger-LeCoultre commissions an original work, inviting the artist to express a theme of interest to the Maison through their particular craft. Given Brendi Wedinger’s deep affinity with the natural and flowers, specifically, she has chosen the natural environment of the Swiss Vallée de Joux to inspire her creations. She combined elements from every aspect of her visit to the Jaeger-LeCoultre Manufacture and designed a series of 3-D three surrealistic flowers amongst which, the 1931 Golden Orchid. In a play on botanical tradition, the flowers have each been given official Latin names with formal English counterparts. Linking them back to the Maison’s history, an official name was added to each flower, thus paying tribute to the Reverso’s year of origin. The Poet’s daffodil, red hemp nettle and late spider orchid were blended to create Gemma Vallis (The Jewel of the Vallee), known as the 1931 Golden Orchid.
