The commercial promotes teamwork
The purpose of all commercial advertising is to generate greater consumption by the "brand" of its product or service, with the primary purpose of associating the name or image of the product with certain qualities in the minds of consumers. While this is not the goal of all advertising campaigns, ads designed to sell immediately are known as direct response ads. Noncommercial entities promoting content other than consumer products or services include political parties, advocacy groups, religious organizations, and government agencies. Dominique has directed hundreds of commercials, from lo-fi realism to shiny beauty spots to cinematic epics. His first advert won the coveted D&AD Pencil, and his subsequent work for Volkswagen, Heinz, Sony, Virgin, Adidas and many others won numerous awards, including Andy's Grand Prix and two at Cannes Golden Lion Award. He was named one of the "10 Hottest Directors" by Campaign magazine. He has worked with BBH, AMV, Ogivy and Mather, McCann, Pubilcis, Wieden+Kennedy, Fallen, Saatchi and Saatchi and virtually every major international institution. Dominique's work is known for combining expert storytelling with authentic performances rarely seen in commercials. He has worked with Brad Pitt, Carrie Fisher, David Beckham, Kate Moss and countless other well-known actors, celebrities and athletes. Among his many location shoots, he has photographed tigers in downtown Joburg, elephants in the mountains of Thailand, Moroccan troops in the scorching deserts and models in bikinis in Iceland in winter. In the studio, he created a submarine in Pinewood, a cruise ship in Mexico City, an Arctic ice station in north London, and hung actors upside down in a replica of the Mir space station. Dominic's debut feature, "White Lightning," premiered at the Sundance Film Festival and won several awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor at the Mumbai International Film Festival and Best Picture for Dinard.
