VIDEO Fossil Introducing the Design Major Watch TV commercial 2018 • Designed by one of our very own interns, this newest (limited edition) member celebrates the next generation of watch designers. 00:01 as a kid I was always playing with Legos 00:04 and creating things and now that I'm 00:07 studying industrial design in college at 00:09 the University of Cincinnati I found a 00:12 perfect way to combine my love for 00:14 creativity and problem-solving into a 00:17 career Industrial Design is the design 00:20 of everyday objects I guess what really 00:24 interests me about design is it's 00:25 something that really goes unnoticed by 00:27 a lot of people everyone interacts with 00:30 stuff that's designed but no one really 00:32 thinks twice about it and if it's 00:34 designed well they shouldn't think twice 00:36 about it 00:37 my favorite part in the design process 00:39 is early on when you really just 00:42 entertain all ideas and explore anything 00:45 when creating the design major I really 00:48 wanted to design something that could be 00:49 worn in all different occasions 00:51 something that was minimalist enough to 00:53 stand out on the wrist but also had some 00:56 added interest in it with toe claw crown 00:59 and textured dial this was the first 01:06 time I was able to really see something 01:08 that I've been working on come to life 01:11 and I think that was a really powerful 01:13 moment when I would actually see this 01:15 object manifested into a real thing I'm 01:19 Ben Hoffman I'm an industrial design 01:21 major at the University of Cincinnati 01:22 and I created the design major 01:27 [Applause] - advertisement spot 2018
