Follow the show live, tonight at 8PM CEST, at https://bit.ly/DG-AltaModaSardegna2024_ #PKS3 #PhillipKSmithIII #NoraMirage 0:12 [Music] 0:18 [Music] 0:28 for for 0:33 [Music] 0:53 [Music] 1:10 my name is Philip K Smith III and I'm a 1:12 light based artist from Palm Springs 1:14 California I'm here in Nora working on 1:18 my installation for the aloda show my 1:22 installation is called Nora Mirage the 1:24 sense that the installation is both 1:26 present and not present that it's there 1:28 and not there at the same time 1:31 at the beginning of the project when I 1:33 was able to meet with DOL and gabana at 1:36 their headquarters in Milan there was uh 1:38 you know initial discussions about 1:40 Concepts and scale and I feel that they 1:43 really Set Me Free my choice was to use 1:47 this use the sea the sky the ruins as 1:50 artistic material within the work so I 1:53 could say that these monoliths are built 1:55 of a reflective material with a steel 1:57 structure But ultimately they are made 2:00 of the sea the sky and the ruins and so 2:04 there's 11 reflective monoliths that are 2:08 all tilted at 10° and all begin to 2:10 interact with each other with the ulota 2:14 models and the fashion that dling gabana 2:17 have 2:18 created I think that's going to be the 2:20 heartbeat that really allows this 2:22 project to come alive 2:26 [Music]
