The first involved braiding leather strips on an organza base into a motif; the second is a shiny jacquard recalling 18th century Venetian fabrics and particularly the work of the heritage fabric maker Rubelli. 00:01 So this is part of a dress. 00:03 It's a collar with intricate braiding 00:06 similar to macramé. 00:08 We play on the use of thin leather strips. 00:11 We topstitch these leather strips onto organza to create a motif. 00:15 It's a triangle that increases in size on a curve 00:18 that is then hemmed with braiding using four strands. 00:21 So we make the braiding separately.
