VIDEO Christian Dior Spring-Summer 2019 Ready-to-Wear Show - The Making of The Collection TV commercial 2018 • 00:01 We have a series of 12 kaleidoscopes in the collection. 00:04 To create the kaleidoscopes, we started with a paper base, 00:07 almost a sort of blotting paper, which we folded. 00:10 We place the ink very delicately, 00:13 and when we reopen it, it creates a design. 00:15 By combining elements like this 00:19 over hazier parts, we're able to recreate a kaleidoscope. 00:23 For example, this part here is this part over here. 00:30 There’s an entire tie-dye theme in the collection. 00:34 We designed flowers that are a bit wilted, dried, hanging. 00:40 And we arranged them in a square composition 00:42 and then tie-dyed over the top. 00:50 The scarf is folded in the centre, we make small ties 00:58 and soak it in the dye. 01:02 And when we remove the ties, we get a pattern. 01:09 Every flower design has its own tie-dye design 01:12 so each piece is different 01:14 but the idea is really to reincorporate 01:16 a flower pattern through the tie-dye process.
