Discover more: https://www.dior.com/en_int/fashion/m... #DiorMenFall 0:00 The Fall collection is really carrying on 0:02 the work from Saint Laurent’s 0:03 period of Dior. 0:04 It's a very classic, tailored-based collection. 0:07 Kim asked us to go to the archive, 0:09 and we looked at all the different 0:11 creative directors for Dior. 0:12 So Monsieur Dior himself, 0:13 Yves Saint Laurent, but also Gianfranco Ferré, 0:15 and we sort of combined elements, 0:17 details, shapes, fabrics for this new collection. 0:21 For this remarkable jacket, 0:22 we took inspiration 0:23 from this archive dress of Monsieur Dior. 0:26 You can see a large collar 0:28 that is inserted in a dart into the front. 0:30 So, with the atelier, 0:31 we worked on the menswear jackets. 0:33 On the front of the jackets, 0:35 we adapted the pattern, added in a low dart, 0:37 almost to the belly button. 0:39 We inserted the shawl lapel, 0:40 then folded it over and pressed it. 0:43 On the dresses of Gianfranco Ferré, 0:44 there's often a double cuff. 0:46 We loved this detail. 0:47 You have a double cuff on your sleeve. 0:50 There are no buttons, no closures. 0:51 It's just very nonchalant and it opens when you move. 0:54 We have developed several gilets, all quite similar. 0:57 There's only one closure, 0:58 which is like Yves Saint Laurent, bow ties. 1:00 This dress is the ‘Bavardage’ dress from 1:02 Yves Saint Laurent's first collection. 1:05 It's an element used in a very interesting 1:08 and novel way by Yves Saint Laurent. 1:10 Here's an example of the ribbon bow 1:13 in the fabric of the dress. 1:14 The bow was something that was very important. 1:16 It's a graphic, minimal bow, which I like. 1:18 So you can apply it to menswear. 1:20 It really resembles a classic menswear jacket, 1:22 but you can really see the innovative construction 1:25 that our Atelier made.
