VIDEO Burger King Cows Menu: Behind The Scenes TV commercial 2020 • Making of the #CowsMenu music video directed by Academy Award winner Michel Gondry and featuring viral yodeling sensation & rising country superstar, Mason Ramsey. 00:00 uh the overall mission statement on this 00:01 job would be to make sure that the 00:03 sets were as sustainable as the menu for 00:06 the cows itself 00:06 [Music] 00:12 and so that notion cascaded to every 00:15 aspect of the production 00:17 we've definitely taken an approach of 00:19 sustainability not only in how 00:21 we are building our sets but also in how 00:24 we're running as a production 00:26 on these sets we use sustainable 00:28 materials the clouds are a cotton 00:29 batting as far as not being synthetic 00:31 goes the cows are made out of wood 00:34 and a eco-friendly foam we use 00:37 metal and wood whenever we can and 00:39 composite of recycled woods 00:45 i think michelle's approach to this is 00:47 unique in that 00:49 we're not going and doing a bunch of 00:50 post-production visual effects 01:00 we're capturing a really tangible 01:02 practical world 01:03 uh the sets are tactile we're making 01:06 everything 01:06 physically move versus actually moving 01:09 it in post 01:10 and pollutes 01:13 [Music] 01:25 well the creative process for the 01:26 choreography really starts with 01:28 speaking with our director michelle and 01:30 kind of his vision 01:31 and and what everybody's wanting then i 01:33 just start to hear a beat and then i 01:35 kind of listen to the lyric and i think 01:36 okay well 01:37 we're trying to convey this on this 01:39 moment so 01:41 you know there's so many strong visuals 01:42 that are also here you know like and 01:43 then the choreography is just like 01:45 one little piece of that from the second 01:47 i heard the track i was just like oh 01:48 this is so cute too like the idea of 01:51 cows burping and farting 01:56 my silverware is made of avocado pits 01:59 aside from just not using water bottles 02:01 we use wooden 02:03 coffee stirrers straws made of avocado 02:11 one of the biggest challenges would 02:13 probably be how many moving parts we 02:15 have 02:15 we are setting up a small carnival there 02:18 will be a burger 02:19 roller coaster cows on a carousel 02:22 and a ferris wheel made of cowboy hats 02:25 they have to work consistently they have 02:26 to be able to 02:27 always function and then we have to be 02:28 adaptable to be able to change that 02:30 it's certainly challenging to 02:31 orchestrate all of that and still 02:33 maintain 02:34 you know as small of a carbon footprint 02:36 as possible i think it's important that 02:38 we take care of our planet 02:39 because well it's the only one we got so 02:41 we gotta help it 02:43 projects like this make us think about 02:46 this planet 02:47 working with these kids makes you think 02:49 about you know what you want to leave 02:50 for them 02:50 [Applause] 02:55 i want to tell all the kids in the world 02:57 that we should all 02:58 help fight climate change and have a 03:00 better world 03:08 sorry- advertisement spot 2020
