Find out more about what it’s like to work at bp, and check out bp.com/uscampus for more information about our early career programs. 0:00 I drive from downtown Houston each day 0:03 and listen to the radio so that gives me 0:05 enough time to kind of clear my mind get 0:08 ready and get excited for a new 0:11 [Music] 0:14 day I'm currently the facility support 0:17 squat lead for the thunderhorse facility 0:20 and I'm based in the Houston West Lake 0:22 office so I've been with BP for 17 years 0:26 I've been in my current role for about 4 0:28 years so my role entails leading uh a 0:32 team of topsides and subc Engineers to 0:34 provide technical support to our 0:36 offshore facility in terms of risk 0:38 management how do we make sure that the 0:41 team offshore goes home safely and then 0:43 also how do we help optimize uh 0:46 production as well how do we make the 0:47 facility as efficient as it could be and 0:51 then I would also say we support our 0:53 energy transition in terms of getting to 0:55 Net Zero um so we are accountable for 0:58 delivering a number of projects that 1:00 reduce our 1:02 emissions the pace of work is very fast 1:04 in operations so it requires us to have 1:08 teamwork and to 1:09 collaborate because I like each day to 1:12 be a little bit different it keeps it 1:13 fun it keeps it exciting that keeps me 1:16 motivated um and keeps me on my 1:19 toes the best bit of my job is 1:22 definitely the people that I get to work 1:24 with we are really encouraged to bring 1:25 our whole self to work and to get to 1:28 know each other on a personal level 1:29 level so that we can care for each other 1:31 and support each other that diversity is 1:34 what makes such a great 1:36 organization I currently have five 1:38 mentees at BP and I provide um advice 1:42 and experience and also just provide a 1:44 listening ear and it's because I had so 1:47 many mentors in my career so it's a very 1:50 uh supportive culture um and a very open 1:53 door culture at 1:55 BP the next generation of BP leaders are 1:58 going to be people who enjoy working 2:01 through challenges as one team there are 2:04 people who are excited about the energy 2:06 transition and doing their part to get 2:09 to Net Zero for anyone who's interested 2:12 in joining BP I would say come we would 2:16 love to have you we would love to have 2:18 your talents and it is probably one of 2:21 the best decisions you will ever make
