VIDEO bp Digital Portrait - Kin TV commercial 2021 • 00:03 love cities cities are what drive 00:05 innovation it's just really the rawness 00:08 and intensity of people understanding 00:11 how they interact with each other how 00:12 they interact with services it's 00:14 absolutely fundamental as a designer 00:16 [Music] 00:20 design is really about solving people 00:22 problems it makes no difference if it's 00:24 designing for the physical world or the 00:26 digital world 00:28 as designers we need to answer the 00:30 question how do people use or interact 00:33 with our products 00:35 when we answer that question when we 00:37 apply user research and design thinking 00:39 we really understand the barriers and 00:41 the goals and the motivations of users 00:44 we start to see some amazing work around 00:46 change and organizational effectiveness 00:50 we're using design to harness technology 00:52 to help bp operate more effectively 00:56 currently we've got about 25 designers 00:58 working across 35 projects we're 01:00 monitoring the health of 15 000 01:02 kilometres of pipes 01:04 to actually enabling how people travel 01:06 purposefully to offset carbon emissions 01:09 and to reduce costs 01:11 there's loads of areas that you can work 01:12 in from user research to design ops 01:15 design engineering product design 01:17 actually working on a product and then 01:19 service design which looks at the 01:21 network of products and how they operate 01:24 with each other 01:25 the best bit about my job is the amazing 01:28 team i get to work with they're really 01:30 talented they're really diverse they can 01:32 see the opportunity to make a difference 01:35 i joined cp to put design front and 01:39 center within the bp transformation 01:41 program to have an impact on carbon 01:43 emissions and drive towards a net zero 01:47 ambition 01:48 what we're doing is having a real impact 01:50 for the future i can't think of anywhere 01:52 else that you can actually do that at 01:55 such a fast pace 01:57 that's what really gets me up in the 01:59 morning that's what sort of design's all 02:00 about 02:09 you- advertisement spot 2021
