Runners looking to elevate their racing experience can make their miles count by running on behalf of a charity.The event's official philanthropic program is made up of six philanthropic partners, each focused on youth and community development in Chicago.The program's goal is to provide funding to support causes that align with the campaign's vision to improve the communities in which we live, work and work.Runners participating in the charity team must raise at least $500 for charity.Every October, runners from around the country and around the world gather on the streets of Chicago to run 26.2 miles and call themselves Bank of America Chicago Marathon finishers!The event ushered in thousands of runners rushing to the finish line, setting countless personal bests and setting five world records.
