Learn how to use Spotify Connect to control playback remotely. Take control of your music experience with just a few simple steps.

In this guide, we will show you how to use Spotify Connect to control your music playback remotely. Spotify Connect allows you to seamlessly switch your music output from one device to another, giving you the freedom to enjoy your favorite tunes wherever you are. With just a few simple steps, you'll be able to control playback on a remote device with ease.

Before diving into the instructions, make sure you have the following:

1. A device with Spotify Connect capabilities

2. Both devices (the one with Spotify Connect and the remote device) connected to the same Wi-Fi network

3. A Spotify Premium subscription

Step 1: Open up Spotify

To get started, launch the Spotify app on your device. Make sure you have the latest version of the app installed to ensure a smooth experience.

Step 2: Choose a song

Once you have opened Spotify, browse through your music library and tap on any song that you want to play. This will initiate the playback.

Step 3: Access Now Playing View screen

When the song starts playing, navigate to the Now Playing View screen. You can do this by tapping on the album artwork or by swiping up from the bottom of the screen. This will take you to the detailed view of the currently playing song.

Step 4: Select Speaker icon

In the Now Playing View screen, you will notice a Speaker icon. This icon represents Spotify Connect. Tap on it to access the Spotify Connect features.

Step 5: Grant permission (iOS only)

If you're using an iOS device, you may need to grant permission for Spotify to access your local network and find other devices. This step is only required for iOS devices. If prompted, follow the on-screen instructions to allow Spotify to access your network.

Step 6: Choose a device

Once you have granted permission (if applicable), a list of available devices connected to your Wi-Fi network will be displayed. This list will include all devices that have Spotify Connect capabilities and are connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your primary device. From this list, select the remote device that you want to control playback on.

Step 7: Start jamming!

After selecting a device, Spotify will establish a connection with it. This is indicated by the disappearing Speaker icon. The music output will automatically switch over to the selected remote device, allowing you to enjoy your tunes wherever that device is located. You can now control playback remotely.

Controlling Playback:

Now that Spotify Connect is active and you have successfully connected to a remote device, you can easily control playback on that device using your primary device. Here are a few functions you can utilize:

1. Repeat songs: To loop your favorite tracks, simply tap on the repeat icon. This will repeat the currently playing song or playlist.

2. Pause: If you want to temporarily stop playback, tap on the pause icon. This will pause the music on the remote device.

3. Change songs: To skip to the next track, tap on the forward icon. To go back to the previous track, tap on the backward icon. This allows you to navigate through your playlist or album seamlessly.

4. Switch audio back: If you wish to switch the audio output back to your primary device, tap on the Speaker icon again. This will bring up the list of available devices, and you can select your own device to switch the playback back.

With Spotify Connect, controlling playback remotely has never been easier. Whether you're at home, in the office, or on the go, you can seamlessly switch your music output to any device with Spotify Connect capabilities. Follow these simple steps and enjoy uninterrupted music wherever you go. Happy jamming!

Please note that Spotify Connect requires a device with Spotify Connect capabilities, both connected devices being on the same Wi-Fi network, and a Spotify Premium subscription. Make sure you meet these requirements before attempting to use Spotify Connect for remote playback control.
