Welcome to our friendly guide on how to effectively use the Compost Bin in Ark Survival Evolved. This useful tool allows you to create Fertilizer for your crops, helping them grow faster and stronger. In this article, we will walk you through the step-by-step process of obtaining and using the Compost Bin.

Unlocking the Compost Bin

To start your composting journey, you need to progress to Level 15 in Ark Survival Evolved. This may take some time, as you'll need to gather experience points by hunting, gathering resources, and surviving in the harsh environment of the game. Once you've reached Level 15, you can unlock the Storage Box recipe. This will allow you to store the materials needed for crafting the Compost Bin.

Now that you have the Storage Box recipe, you can proceed to unlock the Compost Bin Engram. Engrams are the blueprints for crafting items in Ark Survival Evolved. To unlock the Compost Bin Engram, you'll need 6 Engram points. These points are earned as you level up, so make sure to allocate them wisely. Once you have the Engram points, go to your inventory screen and navigate to the Engrams tab. Look for the Compost Bin Engram and click on it to unlock it.

After unlocking the Compost Bin Engram, you'll need to gather the required materials to craft the bin. You'll need 12x Fiber, 15x Thatch, and 50x Wood. Fiber can be obtained by harvesting plants such as bushes or trees. Thatch can be gathered by using a pickaxe on trees or wooden structures. Wood can be obtained by using a hatchet on trees or wooden structures. Once you have all the required materials, you're ready to move on to the next step.

Using the Compost Bin

Now that you have all the necessary materials, it's time to craft your very own Compost Bin. Open your inventory screen and navigate to the crafting tab. Look for the Compost Bin recipe and click on it to craft the bin. Once crafted, place the Compost Bin in a suitable location. It's best to place it near your crop plots for easy access.

To begin composting, you'll need to insert organic materials into the Compost Bin. This can include thatch, feces, or other organic waste. These materials will be converted into Fertilizer over time. To insert materials into the Compost Bin, open its inventory by pressing the appropriate button. Once the inventory is open, drag and drop the organic materials into the bin. The Compost Bin has a limited capacity, so make sure not to overload it with too much material at once.

Producing Fertilizer

To produce Fertilizer, you'll need to gather the required resources. For each batch of Fertilizer, you'll need 50x Thatch and 3x Feces. Thatch can be easily obtained by using a pickaxe on trees or wooden structures. Feces can be obtained from tamed dinosaurs or by collecting the waste of wild dinosaurs. Once you have the required resources, it's time to add them to the Compost Bin.

Open the inventory of the Compost Bin and navigate to the crafting tab. Look for the Fertilizer recipe and click on it. This will combine 100x Thatch and 6x Feces to generate 2x Fertilizer. The crafting process will take some time, so be patient. Once the crafting is complete, the Fertilizer will appear in the inventory of the Compost Bin. You can then collect it and use it on your crop plots to enhance the growth of your crops.

If you add more material than can fit in the bin at once (2x Fertilizer), make sure to move the excess to storage. This will prevent the Compost Bin from becoming overloaded and allow for continuous composting. Excess materials can be stored in nearby storage boxes or other suitable containers.

Congratulations! You have now learned how to obtain and effectively use the Compost Bin in Ark Survival Evolved. By following this friendly guide, you'll be able to create Fertilizer for your crops and maximize their growth potential. Composting is an essential aspect of farming in the game, and with the Compost Bin, you can ensure that your crops thrive. Happy composting!
