Here we leave you a complete guide so you can learn How to fix the runtime error in Roblox.
Roblox is a stable platform, but that doesn't mean it will not have bugs at certain points in time. Runtime errors are common on Roblox.
A crash or outage by the server usually causes the runtime problem on Roblox. If you're seeing this error message, don't you worry; the problem is probably already noted by the Roblox team, and they are trying to fix it.
This does not prevent you from trying any self-service troubleshooting to fix the problem, though.
Roblox runtime errors can also be caused by faulty system settings, shaky network connections, or damaged files.
We have decided to write this guide in order for you to resolve the runtime error on Roblox.
Alright, let's get started!
1: Check Roblox Uptime.
As mentioned earlier, one of the most common causes of this Roblox runtime error involves a server error. You can confirm this yourself by searching for reported faults with Roblox's servers on third-party sites, such as Downdetector.
Currently, you cannot do much to fix an issue with Roblox's servers if the site is down.
If Roblox's servers are up, however, proceed with the first step below as you start troubleshooting.
2: Power Off Your Computer.
Restarting your computer is the quickest fix to the Roblox runtime error. If at any point Roblox and other programs start acting like they will not work because your resources have corrupted while using them, this would resolve the issue.
The steps to restart your computer are as follows:
Start by bringing up the Start menu from the Taskbar.
Press the Power Options tab next.
At last, select Restart.
Launch Roblox after system rebooting to check if that's what's needed to resolve the runtime fault.
3: Ensure your network is connected.
The other probable cause of the Roblox runtime issue could be a slow or erratic network that has caused the platform to be unable to connect to its servers. If you want to know whether your connection is to blame, you may estimate your network's current bandwidth by doing a speed test on Fast.com.
When the test identifies your network as the problem, restarting the router reconnects it with your Internet service provider's servers. You can reconnect your modem or router back to the power supply after 5 to 10 seconds of being unplugged.
Then, after doing that, you can attempt to run the test once more to check if it doesn't work anymore. You can contact your internet service provider with the result of your tests so that they will have it fixed.
If you have any other issues with your Roblox connection, please refer to our full guide dedicated to this issue.
4. Disconnect Your VPN.
It's also possible that third-party VPNs are at blame for Roblox's runtime problem. Although virtual private networks (VPNs) encrypt your data and network traffic, not all VPNs are equal, and some may even slow down your network.
Try deactivating your VPN before attempting to access Roblox again if the runtime error persists.
But if you really don't want to disable your VPN, you could always try switching to a trustworthy service like PureVPN. When it comes to network stability and data security, PureVPN is head and shoulders above the competition.
5: Do a DNS flush.
If you are still unable to resolve the runtime error in Roblox, try flushing your DNS cache. When your DNS records become corrupted, your connection becomes unreliable and slower than what is expected.
To do this, you will need to flush your DNS using the Command Prompt:
You can open the Quick Menu by hitting the Windows key and X on your keyboard.
Select Command Prompt (Admin) to start the command prompt (CMD) as an administrator.
The last step is to execute the command by typing "ipconfig /flushdns" and then hitting Enter.
To test whether the issue has been resolved, start Roblox again after flushing your DNS.
6. Verify Your Network Firewall.
Windows Defender Firewall is a Windows feature that controls how programs can access the internet. If you are receiving the runtime error when trying to launch Roblox, then make sure your firewall allows Roblox access to your network.
To see instructions for checking your Windows Firewall setting proceed to the section below:
Begin by going into your computer's Windows Settings.
Next, click on Update & Security to proceed to the Windows Security tab.
Now go to Firewall & Network Protection and allow an app through the firewall.
Locate Roblox and make sure that it is allowed to connect to your private and public networks.
Finally, restart your computer and launch Roblox again to determine whether or not the runtime error pops up or not.
7. Change your domain name server.
Finally, altering your DNS should resolve the runtime problem that Roblox is still causing when you attempt to open it. You could be experiencing connectivity issues because your Internet service provider's default DNS is having technical issues.
To change DNS in Windows Settings, follow these steps:
Click the network icon in the Taskbar and then right-click on your PC.
Next, launch the Network and Internet Settings menu item.
Right-click on your current network and select the option Change Adapter Options.
Under the Properties window from options, double-click on TCP/IPv4.
Finally, input the following settings and check the option Use the Following DNS:
Cloudflare DNS: 8.8.8.8
Alternative Domain Name System: 8.8.4.4
Done! Subsequently, click OK to save settings and reboot your computer.
Try starting the map or game in Roblox to check that the runtime error exists.
If Roblox is still not working on your computer after trying the options listed in our guide above, you can always try that.
We truly hope that this tutorial helped you in sorting out the issue with Roblox. Please leave a comment with your questions and considerations, and we will try to answer you as soon as possible.
