To learn how to fix the problem of not being able to log in to Edge with a Microsoft account, here is a complete guide that will help you with it.

Signing in is also allowed into Microsoft Edge, a feature included in Microsoft. Once you've signed in to Microsoft Edge with your Microsoft account, it automatically syncs all saved bookmarks, history, and extensions to the cloud. You will want to save all your Edge data, including bookmarks to a cloud storage service for access with any device using your Microsoft Account. Unfortunately, not everyone can sign in to Edge with a Microsoft account. Check out the solutions below if you experience similar situations too.

I am unable to sign in to Edge using my Microsoft account.

If you are getting an error while trying to sign in to the Edge browser with your Microsoft account, then try the following steps below. First things first: make sure that your Edge is updated to the latest version.

Instead, sign in to Windows with your Microsoft account.

Remove blank profile from Edge, if applied

Clear cookies and cache.

Validated experience

Delete your Microsoft Authenticator account and then check if the issue solves.

Password reset

Reset Edge

Here are the steps for all the solutions mentioned above in detail:

1] Instead of using your local account, sign into Windows with your Microsoft account.

Make sure you are logging into Windows with the Administrator account. If you have a Local account to log in to Windows, then sign in with a Microsoft account. Alternatively, if you were on a normal user account you can switch to an administrator account.

2] Clear blank profiles in Edge

If this issue appears in the Edge, then probably some unused blank profiles are set. Check that and delete the blank Edge profiles.

Here it is in detail:

Open the Setting menu in Edge.

From the left menu, select Profiles.

At the bottom, you'll find a Delete button on the right-hand side; click it to delete unused profiles.

3. Delete all cookies and cache.

Log in to Edge again after clearing cache and cookies. Use Ctrl + Shift + Delete keys for the Delete browsing data window of Edge to pop up. First, check the box for Cookies and Cache and then click "Clear now".

4. Validated credentials

If the issue still remains, then try resetting the credential to fix the problem. Here are the steps:

Open the System Control menu from the start menu.

Now click View by mode and then Category.

Next, click on User Accounts to open Credential Manager.

Then click Windows Credentials.

Now that you have signed in, delete all of those entries. Click the extended tab to Remove.

You'll be asked to confirm yes.

Also, look for credentials associated with Edge. In the Credential Manager, you would clear off all of the Edge entries.

5-you may want to deactivate your Microsoft Authenticator account.

You can further secure your Microsoft accounts with Microsoft Authenticator. To better protect your account, turn off Microsoft Authenticator and attach another two-step verification method to your account. Try signing in to Microsoft Edge by removing your account from Microsoft Authenticator. Later, you can add your Microsoft account to Microsoft Authenticator if this goes through.

6.Change your password

Perhaps changing the password for your Microsoft account will fix this. Just follow these steps:

Log in to your Microsoft account using another browser.

From the left side-bar, click Account.

On the right side, click Change Password.

Put old and new password accordingly.

Click Save when you are done.

Now, let's see whether your Microsoft account works for accessing Edge.

7. Clear Edge Data

If the issue does persist at this point, it is time for the drastic measure of resetting Edge to its default settings. By this point, the problem should have disappeared.

By following these steps, you should at last be able to fix the problem and sign in to Edge with your Microsoft account.
