October 24, 2024, marked a continuation of the seasonal event in Roblox known as The Haunt. To take part in The Haunt, a screenshot should be created in any of 22 participating Roblox themed games. The 2024 themes include Creatures, Adorable, Villains, Orange, and Scary. Herein are some guides to winning in The Haunt costume contests.

How to actually win the costume contests in The Haunt 2024

A number of people in the Roblox community have taken to using a free costume creator called Dress to Impress to enter the Haunt event. People aren't using DTI, and when they do, they use their own account things or submit pictures of characters from other games.

The only real problem with the latter option, though, is that you're forced to spend hard-earned cash to purchase Robux, which are the things you use to buy Halloween-themed objects. That in and of itself is an issue - many of the "prizes" in The Haunt require a monetary amount.

use Dress to Impress if you don't want to use one of the freaky critters from the participating games and would like to participate in The Haunt without having to spend even a single penny on an outfit.

Critters

Opening night of The Haunt centers around the theme "Critters." 

Fortunately, DTI has a whole slew of new Halloween products that can help you come up with a scary look that's sure to freak out the other players. The catch is you have to snap the shot in a particularly eerie location. The problem is, though, that the Haunt-specific camera is no longer available in the updated DTI Halloween Lana Lore missions. That said, it remains in place in the dressing room, the lobby, and the waiting area for the chapters! And one neat trick to make the blood droplet necklace stand out more would be to match the color of the chain with your avatar's skin color.

Also, there are a wide variety of creature-appropriate cosmetics looks available in the Halloween update. It is all about thinking out of the box: a ghoul, a vampire, a siren, a zombie, etc. Use a lot of colors from the same palette to make something seem forceful, and accent with black. Finally, make the most out of your surrounding. The dressing room and the lobby/chapter waiting room is no good for a monster suit. Dressing up as a siren, I moved my capture so that the "camera" was below the water surface. Then simply turn off the day on and night on. Done! Kawaii

In Dress to Impress, great clothes are the easiest thing in the world to pick out because they're everywhere, which makes them incredibly boring. Nevertheless, it will complete your day two submission.

Ah, this asymmetrical hem dress from DTI is so 1950-ish, but they really have lots of nice things. I added the blue and white gingham to complete the outfit, and of course, ruby-red shoes for the Wizard of Oz effect.

Then I just had to wait for the voting to finish to take this cute photo in the lobby amidst flowers.

It's adorable, and that's all that matters, even though it looks like a Halloween version of Dorothy. 

Put on a lot of pastels, accessorize with feminine pieces, and go for a more adorable look with your makeup. 

Villians

Putting up an ensemble for the villains category was a blast. Riding high on my Dorothy-inspired charm, my lingering thoughts of musicals led me in the direction of Disney.

In regard to Dress to Impress, there are several Disney villains from which one can take inspiration when designing an outfit. For this category, I selected the Wicked Witch from Snow White. After that would come that large, fluffy cloak and cap: Cruella de Vil. Additionally, DTI has a few split-color hairdos that should look nice with Cruella.

If you want to go as a Disney villain, choose a more traditional villain for Halloween. You can go as a headless horseman, with a pumpkin held aloft, or go as Lina from Lana mythology.

Orange

What matters most is how you build your outfit around that orange pumpkin, because people naturally gravitate towards it.

The over-the-top enormity of Caesar's hair and suit-wearing in The Hunger Games inspired me for a circus-inspired style. I retrieved those components and scrounged the newly installed Halloween booth located in the middle of the Dress to Impress fitting room, near where the menswear was.

I indeed won the first prize when I used this view in DTI to take snapshots of it afterwards. What a pleasant surprise!

Scary

Of the five categories in Dress to Impress, Scary is perhaps the most difficult to design. I think the designs and clothes available on DTI make "unsettling" a better choice than "scary." But I digress. Because I'm not a VIP player, I need to be resourceful in order to use the few stuff I do have.

The eye hidden on the waist is my favorite feature about this. Admittedly bizarre outfit. It gets crazier the longer you look at the outfit—and clothes give me the creeps.

The wings are designed exactly like my avatar's main body, which I liked because it is reminiscent of that pink color one sees out of the corner of one's eye. Fairly said, "liked" is a strong word. It fit the outfit and, the more I pondered it, made me frown, so I knew it was the right choice.

The Creature, Villain, and Scary sections just don't leave much room for original concepts. Seriously, you could pull off all three with the same outfit due to how similar they are.

Keep in mind that Dress to Impress is optional. Judging from the submissions I've seen during voting, many gamers are also recording in-game moments that terrify them. You can still make some eerie captures for The Haunt 2024 even if you don't play DTI.
