If you don't know How to Fix Vizio SmartCast not Working pay attention.

The common problems if Vizio SmartCast isn't working include app crashing and failure of Wi-Fi connection with the TV. This may also lead to an unresponsive or blank SmartCast screen. Incorrect settings, bugs in the software, and poor network connectivity are the probable causes of these problems. The most typical cause, however, is a poor or unreliable internet connection.

Some reasons for this could be out-of-date firmware or incorrect settings on the router.

This post will discuss some methods to fix this problem.

1. Power Cycle Your Vizio SmartCast TV

A misconfiguration or a temporary glitch in the TV's software are just two of many possible causes for such an issue. A power cycle resets the device, thus clearing it of errors and then rebooting SmartCast.

Use your TV remote to reach the system menu.

Then select Reset & Admin.

Then select Soft Power Cycle. Run soft power cycle.

Then unplug your router also.

Now, turn both of them on and check that the TV is working fine.

If the soft power cycle did not help you, then:

Press the power button on your television to shut it off.

Shut the power to your television off. Pull the plug out

Over the next 20 to 30 seconds, with the TV unplugged, hold the power button in.

Now plug the power cord into the TV again.

Still holding the power button down another 20 to 30 seconds.

Now, turn on your television but press the power button only.

Wait until SmartCast Home appears and then verify whether the issue has been resolved or not.

2. Refresh DHCP Setting of Your Network

It does this by auto-assigning an IP address to all devices on the network using DHCP to avoid conflict. If these settings break down, your TV might not be able to connect anymore. If your SmartCast is not connecting to your Wi-Fi, refresh the DHCP to see whether your network is assigning IP addresses.

Mute the television.

Open the web browser.

Access your router by opening the URL and filling in your credentials on the required fields. Insert your credentials for logging into your router.

Open your router's settings page.

Click on the DHCP menu on your router. It might be listed under one of the following: Advanced, Setup, Network, Local Network.

Turn on DHCP. In case it is already turned on, then turn it off, followed by turning it back on.DNS Configuration

Once you've made your selections, exit the setup, saving your changes.

Assuming you used a TV to configure your router, make sure the television goes back on.

After the settings change in your router, using Google DNS might make the issue vanish.

3. On Another Network

This could be because sometimes your ISP will block or throttle some of the services that SmartCast depends on. Try connecting using a different network type, including mobile hotspots or other Wi-Fi networks, to try and work around limitations of those to troubleshoot the issue with your main network.

Make sure your TV is in good condition.

4. Factory Reset Your Vizio SmartCast TV

Factory settings on a Vizio SmartCast TV should sort this issue out if it hasn't worked from the methods above. At this stage, the TV will return to factory settings, and there cannot be an issue with the software error configuration or corrupted update. You need to reset the network settings so the TV will be able to connect afresh to your home Wi-Fi. It is like a resetting of the TV.

Factory Reset 4.1 via the Main Menu From your TV's main menu, press the Menu button on your remote to access the options.

From there, choose System.

Finally, within the Reset & Admin menu, select Reset TV to Factory Settings.

Now, please wait a second while it processes the reset.

4.2 Using the Buttons on Your TV to Restore It to Factory Settings

On the side of your TV, you will find four buttons. At the bottom are two: Input and Volume Down; the directions for each model might be a little different. Holding the Input and Volume Down buttons on, in five to ten seconds, you will have a bar appearing at the top of your TV.

Now, when the screen of your television goes black, hold down the bottom (Input) button for five seconds.

Power up your television and begin the setup process by following on-screen instructions.
