You should probably keep burn in mind as you prepare for battle because the Northern Mines dragon is weak to ice in Metaphor ReFantazio and prefers fire attacks. You can use a warrior as a tank for this battle due to its resistance to fire damage.
You can find the gigantic beast, which is officially known as Fire Dragon Mauna and not the dragon of the Northern Mines, towards the end of the starting area, looking like a dungeon. It hits hard and can burn others in your party with ease, dealing damage to them with this debuff, but the fight will be a breeze due to access to ice damage.

If you don't have a Mage in your party and forget to stock up on Ice Chunks, play defensively and try with Slash damage instead. It'll take longer to get rid of Ice damage, but it's still possible, especially if you have healing ingredients on hand.
Watch your positioning is one tip. It's imperative to manage your party correctly in fights like this. Push the character to the back row and keep him on guard if he's seriously injured. You can spend a large ice attack, provided you have spare MAG for the character. Place him in the front row to increase damage. It's a waste of time and resources to attack Mauna the Fire Dragon from behind with a freezing attack.
Be careful of Scratch, Fireball, and Tail Swipe attacks while fighting. Fireball and Scratch only affect one team member at a time (with physical and fire damage, respectively), while Tail Swipe can apply physical damage to an entire row.
Remember to take advantage of any advantage your team can gain when fighting the dragon. Although the Seeker archetype is weak against fire damage, it also grants access to Tarukaja's moves, which can help your allies hitto catch your breath and stock up on the precious resources nearby when the fire dragon Mauna's health falls to a point where she retreats back into her cave.
