Everything that one would want to know for beating Sword Link and obtaining the sword in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, for those who do not know.

Even if Zelda isn't exactly keen on cold steel in The Legend of Zelda: Wisdom of the Gods, that doesn't mean she can't handle a sword. For as long as your Might Gauge allows, you can transform into the infamous sword-swinging Link in Wisdom of the Gods. Of the many tools you have access to in that form, there's a bow, bombs, a shield, and of course, a sword. First, though, you'll have to figure out how to unlock it.

Where to get the Sword in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

The first dungeon in the game is Suthorn Ruins. You will be able to explore it during your quest through The Mysterious Rifts. After you managed to run away from the castle and reached Suthorn Village, you need to find the ruins.

A huge Rift tore the road northeast of Suthorn Village clean in half, and the map marker points you toward the break in it. You can route around the obstruction by going east through the woods on your way to the location. When you arrive at the waypoint, engage with the bright yellow circle to enter the Stilled Suthorn Forest. The Suthorn Ruins can be reached by moving up through the Still World.

How to Beat Sword Link in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

The moment you step into the Suthorn Ruins, it won't take you long before crossing paths with Sword Link. Echoes of Wisdom is all about originality, and with no arsenal of weapons at Zelda's disposal, you will have to try to get creative to defeat Sword Link.

This conflict can be approached in one of two ways. First, you may want to attack Link's weak place by having him turn his back on you while you are distracting him with creatures you conjure. If you summon your friend Tri's abilities, though, you can defeat him in no time.

Link is very Stingy with his Shield in this battle. Tri, on the other hand, if you press the ZL cursor over Link's Shield and then use X to grab it, you will turn around, walk backward, releasing Link from his Shield, and can easily get attacked. To make use of when he is vulnerable, prepare some monsters.

Whenever Link's health falls to half, he has an aggressive purple mist power-up; try striking him incessantly once he turns away from you or is able to take his shield off to defeat Sword Link. You get to notice that upon defeating him, his Sword will be stuck in the Ruins. Approach the sword and interact to make it yours.

How to Use the Sword in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

Pressing up puts you into Swordfighter Mode, in which you can wield the Sword. While changed, you're free to swing as much as you like until the gauge in the top left corner drains. The blue bubbles floating about can be picked up to restore your gauge.

However, these bubbles aren't lying throughout Hyrule so be strategic with your transformations. For the most part you'll see them around the areas where the game calls for the Sword. In a pinch, you can also use blue potions to refill the gauge.

To perform a devastating spin attack, press and hold the attack button.

After relying heavy on her Echo Minions in most of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom, Link's Sword finally allows Zelda to defend herself. For instance, the boss in the Gerudo Sanctum is way easier to defeat if Zelda can use a Sword.

How to Upgrade the Sword in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom

While later in the story you will be allowed to upgrade the Sword, when you unlock it initially, you won't be able to do so. Once you have finished the Suthorn Ruins and explored more of the Rift's secrets, you will encounter a character named Lueburry.

Before he was taken by the Rift, Lueburry was supplying Link with arms to help him achieve his goal. Since it is an exact duplicate of Link's, Lueburry can help you upgrade your Sword. First, though, this needs Might Crystals.

Mighty Crystals can be found in chests throughout Hyrule or as rewards for completing the dungeons. Once you've defeated Still Links, the Mighty Crystals can be used to upgrade the weapons you've won in the big machine in Lueburry's House northeast of Suthorn Village.

Well, that's all one needs to know about how to defeat Sword Link and get his sword in Zelda Echoes of Wisdom; hopefully, it has been useful for you as much as possible.
