So, get ready, as today we will be teaching How to Craft a Bicycle in 7 Days to Die, and we urge you to stay tuned.
7 Days to Die has been all about surviving by crafting what you need and scavenging through the open world infested with zombies. But such a vast map will take time on foot, especially in the early game of traversing the diversified terrain.
Fortunately, 7 Days to Die has quite a number of vehicle types which can make traversing its world quite easy. First among the easily accessible travel options to all players from the get-go will be the Bicycle. Although it's pretty slow as compared to other options, it might just play an important role in the initial stages of progression within the game until you find more advanced ways to travel.
How to Make a Bicycle in 7 Days to Die
There are two ways to acquire a Bicycle in 7 Days to Die:
1. Trader Rewards: As soon as players spawn into the game, they get five easy quests from the starter Trader, Rekt. Once these quests are accomplished, it unlocks a bunch of rewards, one of which will be the Bicycle. It is highly recommended that you want the Bicycle as soon as possible, select it as your reward.
Crafting Creating a Bicycle The player can create a Bicycle themselves with the blueprint unlocked by reading the 5/100 Vehicle Adventures magazine. And that requires reaching Workstations Tier 2 that can be unlocked by reading 10/75 Forge Ahead magazines. With necessary skills and materials, you will then use the following components to craft a Bicycle: Wheel x 2; Bicycle Chassis x 1; Bicycle Handlebars x 1; Mechanical Parts x 1. How to Get Wheels
The Wheel is a prime entity in 7 Days to Die and plays a significant role in most vehicle recipes. Wheels are unlocked via reading 5/100 Vehicle Adventures skill magazines, and can be commonly found as ground loot in many garages and gas stations at Tier 1 Vehicles. If you cannot find them, then you may craft them. The recipe includes:
• 3 Forged Iron
• 24 Scrap Polymers
• 2 Oil
• 15 Coal
• 1 Bottle of Acid
Note: Scrap Polymers and Bottles of Acid are loot only items. Scrap Polymer can be harvested with a wrench from broken wrecks of cars, while Bottles of Acid can be found throughout the game in sinks, chemistry sets, cars, trash, etc.
Swinging Forge Iron is made at a Forge using Combustible Fuel and Iron or it's found as loot. Coal can be mined from Coal Ore or it can be harvested from trees in Burnt Forest.
How to Get Bicycle Chassis
Well, this is an important one to help you build your bicycle in the game. It's going to unlock after completing 5 out of 100 Vehicle Adventures. It can be crafted at the Workbench using: Forged Iron ×7 Mechanical Parts ×3 Duct Tape ×3 Leather ×3 Spring ×3
Mechanical Parts and Springs can be scavenged rather easily from vehicle wreckage that is commonly seen on the highways. Mechanical Parts can also be salvaged from various machines such as air conditioners, office chairs, shopping carts, etc. Don't forget to equip a wrench to salvage these items and gain resources you need.
First, Duct Tape can be made from Glue and Cloth Fragments or scavenged when looting containers. Leather is obtained by hunting and skinning stags, bears, and rabbits. To scavenge leather from them, a reasonably sharp weapon will be required, such as a Bone Knife.
How to Get Bicycle Handlebars
To craft your Bicycle, you will have to unlock the Bicycle Handlebars by reading 5/100 Vehicle Adventures skill magazines. Similar to the chassis, handlebars will be made at the Workbench with the following:
• Duct Tape x3
• Leather x3
• Mechanical Parts x1
• Short Iron Pipe x9
• Spring x3
Most of these materials have been discussed in the previous sections. The only new material that you will require is the Short Iron Pipe, which you can get from an air conditioner, toilet, or car debris with the wrench.
How to Make and Use a Bicycle in 7 Days to Die
From the inventory menu, go down and select your newly assembled Bicycle, then onto the road to you and mouse scroll wheel to the Bicycle slot. A ghostly image of the vehicle will pop up on the screen. If the outline of the bike is green in color, right-click to place it in that position. Approach the bike and press E to mount it.
Control the bicycle with the same WASD keys you use to move your character. To accelerate, hit Shift, and to brake- Spacebar.
How to Repair / Modify a Bicycle in 7 Days to Die
Like any other in-game vehicle, the bicycle also has durability that decreases with time. If this reaches zero, it will explode. Therefore, its repair should not be too long.
Equipped with a Repair Kit, you interact with the bicycle by pressing and holding E. There, a menu opens where you select "Repair."
More than repair, the bicycle has further functions. Its storage can be used to carry more items, which comes in handy when you are scavenging in remote areas.
Well, in the "Open" menu you'll be able to see a lot more about your bike. In here you'll have a repair button and a number of slots where you will be able to put modifiers and cosmetics on your bike.
