The most beloved card game in the galaxy, Sabacc is a staple within Star Wars Outlaws. With the possibility of big cash prizes and exclusive cosmetics, Sabacc tables are very tempting to players. Still, these complex rules, combined with reliance on luck, make the game quite daunting. But do not be afraid! Because if you have the right strategy going for you, the odds can always be in your favor, always coming out on top.

In this article, we will deconstruct the convoluted Sabacc rules of thumb and unmask a certain proven strategy that'll make you a king of the tables. Most certainly, Sabacc requires an element of luck; however, understanding the mechanical intuition of the game coupled with strategic thinking will go a long way in considerably improving one's chances. Some key strategies under consideration will encompass:

• Know the rules: Understand the nuances of how Sabacc differs, card values, the strength of pairs, and how special cards work to give a correct premise on which a strategy will be formulated.

• Observe opponents: Observe the way your opponents bet, select cards, or react towards their hands to give a glimpse into important tips regarding their probable strategies.

• Keep track of your bankroll: Determine how much you are willing to spend in any given Sabacc session and then stick to that amount. Do not try to recoup losses, and never bet more than you can afford to lose.

•(Utilize shift tokens: Shift tokens play a number of creative roles in a game of Sabacc. Commit the different effects to memory and then use them to bend the game to your whim.

• Play often: The more you play Sabacc, the easier it becomes to read any given game and make the best possible decisions.

Sabacc is a card game, deceptively simple, of strategy and luck. The object of the game is to achieve the lowest valued two-card hand. Cards are numbered from 1 to 6, and a hand's strength is determined by the difference between the values of the two cards. When the value of both cards is the same, a perfect hand, known as a Sabacc, is achieved. The strength of the Sabacc depends on the lesser value.

Players draw cards and get rid of others to achieve the lowest value possible. For every turn, a player can use a chip to draw any card but he has to void one in its place. This game contains two kinds of cards: blood cards and sand cards. Besides these, there are also two special cards: the Sylop that takes the value of the other card in hand and Impostor-the one which assigns a random value. A Sylop Sabacc is when both cards are Sylops, and that is the ultimate goal.

The players who are still in the game open their hands at the end of a round. The player with the lowest value hand collects all chips that other players have wagered. Other players holding different hands from the winner will pay the difference in value of their cards against his. The winner gets one bonus chip from the player who lost. The moment any player loses all of his chips, he is out of the game.

While the basic rules are easy, there is room for strategy in Sabacc. The usage of shift tokens in the game allows players to turn the tide and even cheat with the aid of Nix.

Star Wars Outlaws: How to win Sabacc

"Sabacc, though heavy on chance, does have a more tactical side. We have a four-step process that, when coupled with the right shift token, will seriously up your chances of coming away with a win.".

First off, you'll want to grab some very particular shift tokens to make this work. One of the most vital is the Exhaustion token, which you'll be able to earn after winning a high-stakes Sabacc game at the Crimson Dawn table on Kijimi. You'll also want to grab two Refund shift tokens or a Refund and an Immunity token - the latter you can also earn on Kijimi.

Save your chips

Sabacc's a game of strategy and risk management. If you want to win, the key is making your chips last, especially early in the game. Play tight, aiming for a hand with a difference of 1 or less. You should really only take risks when you see a Sabacc within reach. If you feel you're being targeted by shift tokens or have two chips in the draw pile, it may be time to play a "get two chips back" shift token to pad your stack for endgame.

Wait for an 1vs1

"To maximize your chances of winning, try to outlast at least two other players. While ideally you'd prefer a one-on-one showdown, even a two-player situation can be advantageous with careful play and a bit of luck."

Cheat and view their cards

The main event in one-on-one Sabacc face-off is to play conservatively until the last turn-three dots in the bottom left corner. Obviously, if you have a Sabacc card, then play the game to your liking, but if not, then you'll want to play conservatively. You may have to replay this round. On the last turn, play to your advantage with Nix. Send your furry little friend to spy on your opponent's cards for you and gain that crucial advantage. Since this is one-on-one, you will only need to perform one QTE, which dramatically lowers the risk of getting called out for cheating.

Destroy their hand

"When Nix returns with information of your opponent's hand, strategize. If distinctly worse, continue on confidently. If their hand is better, or even with the prospect of matching your cards, now is the perfect time to execute a strategic move. You'll use your [discard hand one] shift token and he will be forced to discard his whole hand, drawing new cards. Not only does this greatly decrease his possibility of beating you on random cards, but you can now seize this opportunity to pick up a discarded card that may give you a better hand. This is no no-brainer strategy, and it certainly comes at early knockout risk; however, it's something we find particularly successful in securing victories against tough opponents in high-stakes games.
