Shiny gems are one of the rich resources in Disney Dreamlight Valley, as you can use them in the creation and crafting of many things. Although a lot of these gems give value while selling, others are in great demand for various recipe creations or completing quests. This is where Tourmaline comes in-a generally hard-to-find gem that is available within two biomes. Tourmaline is a bright pink gem that can be mined from rock nodes in the Frosted Heights and Sunlit Plateau biomes. Make sure that those biomes are unlocked before proceeding to mine this resource. Sunlit Plateau unlocks at 7,000 Dreamlight while Frosted Heights for 10,000 Dreamlight.

Tourmaline is one of the crucial materials for two quests in Dreamlight Valley: Fire Alarm, which is a part of Fairy Godmother's quest, and The Secret Door, belonging to Mickey. For completing Fairy Godmother's quest, which gets unlocked upon reaching Friendship Level 2, you will have to use Tourmaline for Icy Enchantment. This requires three Tourmalines, one Empty Vial, five Dream Shards, five Purple Impatiens, and fifteen Snowballs.

For Mickey's quest alone, simply put one Tourmaline in a secret, hidden Secret Door. Other than that, Tourmaline is used to make a number of optional items: DJ Booth Ring, Gem & Opal Road, Round Lamppost with Pink Light, and more.

Once you have completed all of your quests and other crafting projects, you can sell any extra Tourmaline to Goofy for 420 Star Coins. If you happen to be lucky enough to find a Shiny Tourmaline, you can cash in for an impressive profit of 1,680 Star Coins.
