Avoid sleep mode

There are two main methods to prevent your Mac from going to sleep:

1. System configuration:

Access " System Preferences ".
Select " Battery " (or " Power Saver " on desktops).
Click " Options " (located on the right side).
Check the “ Prevent the computer from automatically going to sleep when the screen is off ” box.
If you want the screen to stay on indefinitely, set the screen off time to " Never " in the " Display " section of " System Preferences ."

2. Terminal:

Open the " Terminal " application .
Run the following command:

caffeinate -s

To disable the feature, run the following command:

caffeinate -t 0

Set a custom automatic shutdown

Open the " Automator " application.
Select " Application " in the " Choose template " section.
Drag and drop the “ Shutdown ” action from the library to the right side of the workflow.
Set the desired shutdown time in the “ On ” field.
Save the application with a name that identifies the shutdown program.
To run the automatic shutdown program, double-click the file you created.

Additional considerations

If your Mac is a laptop, keep in mind that avoiding sleep mode can significantly reduce battery life.
