How to install Windows 11 on New PC?

Prerequisites:

A new PC with internet access (recommended)

An 8GB or larger USB flash drive Windows 11 Installation Assistant downloaded from Microsoft

Step 1: Accessing the BIOS Menu and Setting Boot Order

Power on your new PC.

Immediately upon startup, press and hold the designated key to enter the BIOS setup menu.

Common keys include F10, F2, F12, F1, or DEL. Consult your motherboard manual or manufacturer's website for the specific key for your PC.

Within the BIOS menu, navigate to the Boot tab using the arrow keys.

Locate the Boot Option Priorities section and identify the option for Removable Drive or USB.

Use the arrow keys and function keys (often F6 or F+) to move the Removable Drive or USB option to the top of the boot priority list.

Save the changes and exit the BIOS menu. Your PC will automatically restart.

Step 2: Creating Bootable Installation Media

Run the downloaded Windows 11 Installation Assistant.

Accept the license terms and conditions.

In the tool, choose the option to Create installation media for another PC.

Select the language, edition (Windows 11 Home or Pro), and architecture (64-bit) that corresponds to your desired Windows 11 installation.

Choose the USB flash drive you intend to use and ensure it has at least 8GB of free space. Important: Creating the bootable media will erase all data on the USB drive, so back up any important files beforehand.

Click Next and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the creation process.

Step 3: Installing Windows 11

Restart your PC with the bootable USB flash drive plugged in.

The system should automatically boot from the USB drive. If not, repeat step 1 to adjust the boot order in BIOS.

On the initial setup screen, select your preferred language, time zone, and keyboard layout.

Click Install Now.

During the installation process, you may be prompted to enter a product key. If you have a valid product key, enter it here. Otherwise, you can choose to skip this step and provide the key later during system activation.

Agree to the license terms.

Select the Custom Installation option for advanced control over the installation process.

Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation. This may involve formatting the desired drive partition and selecting the appropriate options.

Step 4: Setting Up a User Account

Once the installation is complete, you will be prompted to create a user account.

Enter a username and a strong password.

Follow the remaining on-screen instructions to complete the user account setup.

Optional Step 5: Creating Additional User Accounts and Managing Account Types

After logging in, you can create additional user accounts or manage existing accounts.

Access Settings > Accounts > Family & other users.

Click on Add someone else to this PC.

Choose the appropriate account type (e.g., standard user or administrator) and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the account creation.
