How to Exclude an App or Website from Recall Snapshot in Windows 11

We all know that recall is a feature exclusive to Copilot+ PCs made to help you find and remember content easily. With Recall, your computer saves snapshots of the screen every five seconds when you change content, which is important if you want to search for content later.

But despite this there are cases in which we do not want you to take a snapshot of a website. That is why today we bring you a guide so you can learn how to avoid it:

How to Exclude an App or Website from Recall Snapshot in Windows 11

Excluding Websites from Recall Snapshots:

Access Settings: Utilize the keyboard shortcut Win + I to launch the Windows Settings application.

Navigate to Privacy & Security: Locate and select the "Privacy & security" category within the Settings application.

Manage Recall & Snapshots: Within "Privacy & security," identify and click on "Recall & snapshots" to access the relevant settings.

Define Website Exclusions: Under the "Filter lists" section, locate the "Add website" button and click on it.

Specify Website URL: Enter the complete URL (including "https://") of the website you wish to exclude from Recall snapshots.

Confirm Exclusion: Click the "Add" button to confirm your website exclusion.

Excluding Applications from Recall Snapshots:

Access Settings: As previously described, launch the Windows Settings application using the Win + I keyboard shortcut.

Navigate to Privacy & Security: Locate and select the "Privacy & security" category within the Settings application.

InPrivate browsing mode within Microsoft Edge inherently excludes websites from Recall snapshots due to security protocols.

If you require the removal of existing snapshots containing unwanted applications or websites, navigate to Settings > Privacy & security > Recall snapshots. This section offers options for deleting snapshots based on a specific timeframe or complete deletion.
