In this block, you will find that this is the extension and way for you to interlock the ending date of your Block 3 – which is the most critical portion of this training program. For an example, Chris shares that at the adidas HQ, there is the Road to Records event on April 29th. In the 17 weeks leading up to the race date, what is essential is the total training time to bring us to April 29th. To buy the extra time between now and then, you’ll find that Chris will backfill the next few weeks with the additional five weeks of workouts. What you’ll realise in these five weeks, is the format is identical to what you did in Block 1 and 2 – it’s 3 workouts per week. Whilst it’s the same format, what makes it unique is the fact that this program uses your Mile for Time result. You will see throughout the entire 5 weeks, paces that stay at your Mile per Time pace. You’re then going to use the Mile for Time result that you completed, at the end of the second Block to help you begin the personalisation process. Think of Block 2A as an intermediate step between Block 2 and Block 3. What you’re trying to do is use that Block 2A to get you to Block 3.
