For this project, he decided to create a “Reclaimed Surfboard” from the leftover waste that occurs from the initial surfboard shaping process. Pepe uses the leftover foam scraps, driftwood for the stringer, and newspaper to reduce the needed fiberglass process. His inspiration was formed by the way he grew up– ever since he was a kid, his parents taught him to be conscious of the use of energy or natural resources, waste, and consumables.
