The new campaign, launched by the Scottish Government, encourages drivers to watch their speed in built-up areas.
The advert shows drivers in different situations – a mum on the school run, people travelling to work – who are stopped by the police FOR speeding, every nine minutes. And ends with a cyclist being treated in an ambulance with the sombre message: ‘Sometimes, they’re stopped BY speeding.’
The campaign encourages people to drive at an appropriate speed for the conditions. Research tells us that most drivers (87%) think that hitting a pedestrian at 30mph wouldn’t be fatal. Sadly, this is not
