Your Mustang Mach-E battery has an optimum working temperature. This is when it performs most efficiently, maximising your charge to give you the most driving range.
In colder conditions your battery can take longer to charge and may output less power than in milder conditions.
Likewise, if your battery becomes too hot during the summer months, this can also affect your battery’s performance.
Precondition while still plugged in.
To help minimise the load on your battery while driving, we recommend that you precondition the battery and get your vehicle cabin to the desired temperature before departing.
This uses energy from the mains while your battery is still charging, helping to reduce the power demand from your climate control once you set off.
You can access preconditioning through the FordPass App** or via your SYNC 4* touchscreen.
On your SYNC 4 screen, first go to ‘Settings’ then tap ‘Charge’.
From here you can select ‘Departure and Comfort’. This allows you to schedule departure times and set your preferred cabin comfort levels for regular daily journeys or individual trips.
To access preconditioning via the FordPass App, first select ‘Vehicle’ then tap ‘Departure Times’. Then follow a similar process.
