video ford How to use EV charging stations | Mustang Mach-E Advert 2021 • With the Mustang Mach-E, charging on the go is easy and convenient. Use both AC and high-power DC charging stations, with built-in cables or without. And manage, monitor and pay for charging with the FordPass app*.
Mustang Mach-E has a range of up to 379 miles / 610 KM on a full charge†. It’s compatible with AC and high-power DC charging stations. DC stations charge fastest — up to 73 miles / 119 KM in just 10 minutes^. Using a public charging station is just like using a standard domestic socket or Ford Connected Wallbox at home, except for the cable and payment method.
To start, ensure the Mach-E is in park and unlocked, then press its charge port to open it.
DC charging stations have a built-in cable. To connect it to the car, pull down the cover on the lower part of the socket in your charge port.
For chargers like IONITY that support Plug and Charge**, connect the charger to your car to begin. For chargers that don't support it, use the FordPass app to start the session or swipe your Ford Charging Card and follow the instructions. When charging, the cable locks in place and can only be removed when the car is unlocked and the key present, for security.
The charge indicator lights on the charge port display the current status. When plugged in, they turn blue and pulse through five segments according to the charge level. You can also monitor charging remotely with the FordPass app. We recommend you don't regularly charge over 80%, to preserve battery capacity. Charging times will vary depending on the charger capacity, and whether you’ve a Standard or Extended Range Mach-E.
When charging is complete, use the unlock button to release the cable. The car’s key must be present for it to work. Return the cable to the station and the session will end. If you can't use FordPass or your Ford Charging Card, follow the instructions on the charging station to pay.
Your Mustang Mach-E has a built-in AC-DC converter, so it can charge from public AC chargers. Not all AC stations have a built-in cable, so your car has its own public charging cable, located in the front load space. When connecting, always plug into the charging station first. The female connector will click and lock. Next connect the cable to the car.
For AC chargers that support Plug and Charge, charging will then begin. For chargers that don't support it, use the FordPass app to start the session or swipe your Ford Charging Card and follow the instructions. As with DC charging, the cable locks into place while charging and can only be removed when the vehicle is unlocked and the key present.
AC charging is slower and times vary. Once charging is complete, remove the cable and use FordPass to complete the session and make any payment needed. If a charger is not compatible with the FordPass Network, follow the instructions on the charging station to pay.
