VIDEO UGG presents #POWEREDBYHER: Featuring Claire Tabouret TV commercial 2020 • A video series featuring artist Claire Tabouret and chef Dominique Crenn, #POWEREDBYHER celebrates two of the women we’ve worked with this season. Wearing styles made in partnership with HERproject, a collaborative initiative that creates relationships with brands like ours to educate and empower women in the supply chain, these women pass on the power - sharing their personal experiences of what success looks like, how they achieved it, and challenges they had to overcome that we can learn from. Claire Tabouret is a French artist based in Los Angeles. Immersed in the arts at an early age, her figurative paintings, drawings, and sculptures deconstruct the female form and explore the enigmas of childhood. Drawing inspiration from mythology, history, and personal experience, her work offers an impassioned and uninhibited commentary on outdated notions of femininity. 00:00 [Music] 00:00 my name is Claire taboo hey I'm French 00:04 I'm a painter a long time ago when I was 00:06 a kid I started searching for something 00:09 and I forgot what it was a long time ago 00:11 but I'm still searching because I got 00:13 addicted to the research and then you 00:15 make a painting and you do another one 00:17 thinking it's going to be better and you 00:19 make a show which leads you to another 00:20 show and it's never finished but for me 00:22 what was really important was to not let 00:24 go one day without painting like even if 00:27 I would come back late at night I would 00:28 still try and do like one small drawing 00:30 once because otherwise I would lose 00:32 sense in my life like this is not what 00:35 the life should be about just go from 00:37 one day to another I need to always give 00:39 a meaning to the day never let one day 00:41 go without doing something for myself if 00:44 I could talk to my young self I think I 00:46 would like to tell her to enjoy slightly 00:49 more what I'm achieving because I have a 00:51 hard time doing that I think a big goal 00:56 in my life is 00:58 to understand my relationship to time 01:01 and maybe have a more peaceful 01:03 relationship to time because this 01:06 obsessiveness and my work has to do also 01:10 with the terror of the time going by so 01:13 fast and I think this is an interesting 01:16 source of energy in some aspects because 01:20 it just makes me do so much things but 01:23 in another way I can also forget about 01:26 present time 01:27 that's what painting has to teach me I 01:29 make the choice to be in control of a 01:32 lot of decision in my career maybe 01:34 because I'm a woman I think I've grew up 01:36 taking care of myself 01:37 again I don't rely on someone else to 01:39 like do my stuff 01:43 you- advertisement spot 2020
