Toyota Commercial Pre-Collision System: 2020 Toyota GR Supra Specs & Safety Features Pt 1 spot commercial 2024
VIDEO Toyota Pre-Collision System: 2020 Toyota GR Supra Specs & Safety Features Pt 1 TV commercial 2020 • Introducing the Pre-Collision System (PCS) with Pedestrian Detection in the 2020 Toyota Supra safety features. The Toyota pre-collision system is going to be one of your favorite 2020 Toyota Supra specs that we have to offer.
00:00 (uplifting music)
00:07 - [Narrator] The GR Supra is not your typical Toyota,
00:09 and the same goes for its safety systems.
00:12 In addition to a wide range of passive safety features,
00:15 all Supra models come equipped
00:17 with the following three active safety systems,
00:20 Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection,
00:23 Lane Departure Warning with Steering Assist,
00:25 and Automatic High Beams.
00:28 This two-part video series will review
00:30 what each feature does,
00:31 starting with Pre-Collision System.
00:36 Supra's standard Pre-Collision System
00:37 with Pedestrian Detection uses a front-facing camera
00:40 to detect and warn the driver of hazards on the road ahead
00:43 when traveling at speeds up to 53 miles per hour.
00:47 This system's advanced image recognition capabilities
00:49 allow it to differentiate between various hazard types,
00:53 including vehicles during both daytime
00:55 and low-light conditions, as well as pedestrians
00:58 and bicyclists during the daytime.
01:00 So if the system determines that intervention may be needed,
01:05 it will activate to assist the driver in avoiding
01:07 or mitigating a potential collision.
01:10 When activated, Pre-Collision System's operation
01:13 can be broken into three phases.
01:16 The first phase only applies to vehicle detection,
01:18 and it involves a pre-warning alert that notifies the driver
01:21 if there is a potential for a collision
01:23 with a vehicle ahead.
01:25 It does this by lighting a symbol on the instrument panel,
01:28 as well as the available Head-up Display if equipped.
01:32 The second phase applies to vehicles, pedestrians,
01:35 and bicycles, and it occurs if the collision is determined
01:38 to be imminent.
01:41 In this case,
01:42 (alarm buzzing) an "acute warning"
01:43 emergency alert occurs,
01:44 flashing the red symbol and adding an audible buzzer.
01:48 Depending on the situation and equipment,
01:50 this alert may also involve a brief activation
01:52 of the braking system.
01:54 Additionally, if the driver reacts to the warnings
01:57 and depresses the brake pedal, a brake assist function
02:00 will automatically apply additional force
02:02 to help decelerate the vehicle as quickly as possible.
02:06 The third phase occurs if the driver does not react
02:08 to the warnings at all and urgent intervention is required
02:12 to prevent a collision.
02:14 At this point, the system's emergency "braking intervention"
02:17 function is activated, which can automatically apply
02:20 the brakes to bring the car to a controlled stop
02:23 without any input from the driver.
02:26 Like the hazard detection function,
02:28 this automatic braking function also operates
02:30 at speeds up to 53 miles per hour, but only for vehicles.
02:35 For pedestrians and bicycles,
02:37 the automatic braking function operates
02:39 up to 40 miles per hour instead.
02:41 Timing settings for vehicle detection can be adjusted
02:44 on the center display and collision warnings can be disabled
02:47 by pressing and holding the safety system button
02:49 on the center console.
02:52 Please also note that the available Driver Assist Package
02:54 enhances the Pre-Collision System's
02:56 operational speed range thanks to its addition
02:59 of a radar sensor.
03:01 When equipped, this package enables vehicle detection
03:04 at speeds up to 130 miles per hour,
03:07 as well as automatic braking at speeds
03:09 up to 155 miles per hour for vehicles,
03:12 and 53 miles per hour for pedestrians and bicycles.
03:16 This concludes the Pre-Collision System overview.- advertisement spot 2020
