Created with Positive Directions whose mission is to make mental health care and recovery support accessible for all. “I would run 3 miles but have to stop to catch my breath and walk. After a little time I only had to stop to walk about halfway through until one day I was able to complete those 3 miles without stopping. I then introduced some strength training and HIIT into my weekly routine. I slowly began to notice how it was positively impacting me mentally as well. It was clear that on a day in which I ran I mentally felt better, more patience and more able to deal with things that would typically cause me different levels of anxiety. It's funny where things can take you without any intention to really ever end up in that place. It was running (and the knowledge I had to train the next day) that drove me to decrease some bad decisions and replace them with healthier eating and consuming less alcohol. Better nutrition and avoiding alcohol was also a positive impact on my own Mental Fitness.” -Brian McGarvey #ForeverForward
