Bump around the studio and learn about the inspirations behind the game and what you can expect in this year's wildest game party. 00:00 [Music] 00:03 for guys itself like all the best ideas 00:06 came when we were talking about 00:07 something else entirely 00:08 and then midway through Joe Walsh the 00:11 lead designer on the project was just 00:13 like oh you know what this sounds a 00:14 little bit like takeshi's Castle Total 00:17 Wipeout all of these things and we were 00:19 like yeah that's really nice but we're 00:20 kind of talking about this game right 00:21 now and then he went away in a day later 00:22 had come back with this one pager for 00:25 full values which was obviously the best 00:27 idea we've had in ages 00:28 well guys is the greatest game show the 00:30 world has ever seen so it's slapstick 00:32 physics-based knockout style chaos so if 00:36 you've seen two cases Castle for example 00:37 you know where we're going with it 00:38 people lined up on the start line and 00:41 we're gonna put you through round after 00:42 round of elimination style knockout 00:44 gameplay so two minute rounds we're 00:46 gonna eliminate maybe 10 or 20 people 00:47 each time and so we've got one player 00:49 left at the end so there's an old TV 00:54 show called it's a knockout which 00:56 basically went to a town just a bunch of 00:59 people up in really ridiculous outfits 01:01 which are impossible to move in and then 01:03 make them compete in an obstacle course 01:05 and we kind of went back to that and 01:07 felt that when we were first designing 01:08 the full guys they needed to have that 01:10 element of being completely uniquely 01:12 badly designed for the task that we were 01:14 going to put them through like we wanted 01:16 them to fall over falling over is funny 01:18 we didn't want them to be these like 01:20 high careful ethic ninja warrior 01:21 characters this means giving them little 01:23 stubby legs big arms so when they when 01:25 they fall up fly through the air they 01:27 looked as funny as possible and they 01:29 should also look like they're bouncy as 01:30 well you know a big thing is that no 01:32 matter how hard a poor guy gets hit you 01:34 always get back up again it keeps 01:35 running down the rest of the course 01:37 they are super keen and eager they want 01:39 to win when anything else they are super 01:42 competitive and they love competing 01:43 and the entire world is built to 01:45 represent that and it's something you 01:46 can see when you when you play the game 01:48 if you look up into the sky you can see 01:49 you're kind of in this giant dome 01:51 there's cameras everywhere flying by 01:53 this billboards you should get a sense 01:55 when you play the game about everything 01:56 that you see it's been designed to to 01:58 create the the spectacle or for guys and 02:00 the the massive game show that which 02:02 ranks anyway as with all game 02:06 development we're at the stage where 02:07 everyone is looking very very nervous 02:09 and things are definitely not on fire 02:12 and everything 02:13 fine which I believe is more 02:15 traditionally known as approaching alpha 02:17 fast this means that this represents 02:18 being able to play through the game in 02:20 real-world conditions which they're 02:21 going to replicate what its gonna be 02:22 like when the game goes live immediately 02:24 this means recruiting people from all of 02:26 our different Studios so we have up to 02:27 60 or 70 people in London twenty people 02:30 in Madrid more and Brighton you can hear 02:32 the screens from down the office as 02:34 people are kind of like pulling off of 02:35 things or being pushed off of things or 02:37 coming so close and failing there's this 02:40 really kind of like fun competitive 02:41 atmosphere which has been echoed you 02:43 know when the games been showed so the 02:48 thing before guys that makes it so 02:49 unique is this combination of the chaos 02:51 that you get from playing with other 02:52 people also the character that we give 02:54 you to compete with they are adorable 02:55 and unstable and always falling over and 02:58 when you combine that character with 99 03:00 other people the chaos is just like off 03:02 the charts it is a game that is going to 03:03 keep on growing keep them living they're 03:05 huge like live operations going to so 03:07 it's experience so they'll always be new 03:08 around still always been new things to 03:10 playing for guys and I think it's just 03:12 gonna be a bright splash of color in 03:14 your life and I cannot wait share 03:22 please- advertisement spot 2020
