00:12 appeared first in Return of the Jedi and
00:15 it's a very very sleek design it's more
00:17 like a sports car in in space so very
00:20 very clean and encourage lines were very
00:22 beautiful the main feature of the aiming
00:24 is that it's a very very Swift
00:26 interceptor and faster than a TIE
00:29 Interceptor which is already super fast
00:31 but the evening is even faster they are
00:34 so the two fairly big guns and it packs
00:38 a punch and what it cannot blow up it
00:40 can still run away from I found a book
00:43 with technical specifications only a
00:45 wing and that book insisted that the
00:48 guns are able to turn in though we never
00:50 see that happening in the movie but I
00:53 thought well that's so cool I'm falling
00:56 little handy feature so I I put it in
00:58 the model at first it seemed like a
01:00 pretty straightforward design process
01:02 because it's not really a very
01:03 complicated shape
01:05 but very often they're the most simple
01:07 shapes if they are craft and rounded
01:09 turned out to be a rather difficult to
01:11 design with a blocky leg or of course we
01:13 have a lot of curved and rounded
01:15 elements but the trick is to find the
01:17 right element for the right job Star
01:21 Wars is famous for grey models the a
01:23 wing on the other hand is really simple
01:25 because it really is white and dark red
01:28 I think white and dark grey is also
01:31 typical Star Wars color combination or
01:33 the dating back to the time of the
01:35 Galactic Republic maybe you remember
01:37 some other ships from prequel trilogy
01:40 like it's very nice to see this again on
01:43 relatively a modern Starfighter yeah if
01:46 we're talking scale on the a wing you
01:49 will notice on the size of the pilot
01:51 seat the aim is really not a very big
01:54 star shaped like twice as big as a
01:57 minifigure alien should be but we still
02:00 found green
02:03 I mean pilot Dacron which I believe is
02:06 exclusive and brand-new oh yes 20 years
02:08 of Star Wars we still managed to make
02:10 something brand-new on Star Wars we we
02:13 have a big team and because you also
02:15 work as a team it's mostly one desire
02:18 assigned to one specific task but of
02:22 course you always look on each other's
02:23 models and give ideas or inspiration or
02:27 maybe just find the interesting part a
02:29 new part in its talk that we bring up
02:31 and show to the design our thinking is
02:33 see here's this new new curved brick
02:36 wouldn't be perfect for this section of
02:38 the model and this is how we help each
02:40 each other if you already build Lego
02:43 Star Wars model you see as a bigger
02:45 model you will probably recognize some
02:48 of the building techniques used in this
02:49 model it has a twirl Technic frame to
02:52 which all the other cool bits are are
02:54 attached and while the tacky frame is
02:56 just that Technic frame it gets a lot
02:58 more interesting once you build the
03:00 stuff that gets attached on the sides
03:02 for instance there is a middle part
03:05 right after the nose on the sides which
03:06 is really really interesting build it
03:09 goes in in all directions and also
03:11 attaches in a really interesting way but
03:14 I like most about this set is that it
03:17 was something we have not done before as
03:19 UCS said like I said we have done plenty
03:22 of smaller earrings but we've never done
03:26 the a wing on a big scale as the UCS
03:29 table this is the first time and in 20
03:32 years of style other thing every first
03:33 time is serviced also a great time if
03:37 you would have told me as a kid one day
03:39 you want what I go and you know what
03:42 your even be a little towers designer
03:45 just a setter no no way no way that's
03:48 absolutely zero chance of that happening
03:50 but as you can see I would have been
03:53 wrong and you would have been right
