Duolingo Commercial 🟩 Lesson: How to Set Up a Chess Board Spot

Oscar’s video teaches you how to set up a chessboard “like a proper player.” Here’s the same lesson, Duolingo‑style.

🟦 1. White on the Right

Before placing any pieces, rotate the board so the bottom‑right square is white.

Memory trick: ➡️ White on the right.

🟧 2. Rooks in the Corners

Rooks = the castle pieces. They always go in the four corners.

🏰 Corners = castles.

🟩 3. Knights Next to the Rooks

Knights sit right beside the rooks.

Pattern so far: Rook → Knight

🟦 4. Bishops Next to the Knights

Bishops go beside the knights.

Your back row now reads: Rook – Knight – Bishop

🟧 5. Queen on Her Color

The rule everyone forgets.

  • White queen → white square
  • Black queen → black square

👑 Queen on her color.

🟩 6. King Takes the Last Spot

The king goes in the only remaining square in the back row.

He always arrives last.

🟦 7. Pawns Fill the Front Row

All pawns go in the row directly in front of the main pieces.

They’re the front‑line students.

✔️ Your board is now perfectly set up

You’ve officially mastered the setup from the video — Duolingo style.

If you want, I can also make:

  • A Duolingo‑style practice quiz
  • A visual diagram
  • A memory trick that makes the order automatic
