VIDEO Disney•Pixar Meet the Filmmakers Behind Smash and Grab | Pixar SparkShorts TV commercial 2019 • Director Brian Larsen and Producer David Lally introduce their Pixar SparkShort, Smash and Grab. 00:00 smash-and-grab is an action adventure 00:03 sci-fi about two friends who are trying 00:06 to escape their job and they are very 00:09 specialized at what they do so one guy 00:12 is essentially a hammer and one guy is a 00:13 shovel but they want something more the 00:16 genesis came out of this idea that 00:18 somebody who has a restrained life who 00:20 anted a free life there was an 00:22 interesting idea that a robot that is 00:24 designed for one job does not want to do 00:26 that job anymore 00:27 wants a better life so having him as 00:29 robots just seemed to be a nice way to 00:31 express that idea at the time I was a 00:34 story supervisor and I was helping out a 00:37 director develop a project you iterate a 00:39 lot over and over and over again and 00:41 this is where the idea came from about 00:43 like I was doing something over and over 00:45 again and I wanted to try something that 00:47 broke me out of that a little bit 00:50 [Music] - advertisement spot 2019
