The widget with the most customization options is the camera widget. In this post, we will share the steps to do the same. Remember that this feature is only available for Samsung Galaxy phones running One UI 6.

How to Add Custom Camera Widget on Samsung Galaxy Phones

Adding the Custom Camera Widget:

Access the Widgets Menu: On your home screen, maintain a long press on an empty area to reveal the widgets menu.

Locate and Select: Navigate to the "Camera" section and identify the "Custom Camera" widget.

Integrate the Widget: Tap on the chosen widget to seamlessly add it to your home screen.

Tailoring the Widget to Your Needs:

Personalization Options:  Long press the newly added Camera widget to open its settings and explore the available customization options:

Descriptive Naming: Assign a clear and concise name for the widget, facilitating effortless identification.

Dedicated Storage: Specify a designated folder for captured photos and videos to maintain organization within your device's storage.

Custom Thumbnails (if applicable): For specific device models, you may have the ability to set a custom image or sequence of images as thumbnails for the widget, adding a personal touch.

Confirm Customization:  After tailoring the widget to your preferences, tap "Save" to solidify your changes.

Utilizing the Camera Widget:

Tapping the widget will typically launch the Rear Camera mode by default, expediting your transition into capturing moments.

Modifying the Default Camera Mode (Optional):

Access Settings:  Maintain a long press on the Camera widget and select "Settings" to modify its default behavior.

Choose Preferred Mode:  Select your desired shooting mode, such as Front Camera or Video Recording, for direct launch from the widget, ensuring you're prepared for any photographic scenario.

Save Selection:  Tap "Save" to confirm your chosen default mode.

Removing the Widget:

Should you no longer require the Camera widget, simply long press on it and select "Delete" to remove it from your home screen.

Advanced Customization: Creating Widget Stacks (Optional):

Activate Stacks:  Long press on the Camera widget and select "Stacks" to create a combined widget stack incorporating other app widgets for a more streamlined home screen.

Pick an App to Stack:  Choose another app you frequently use in conjunction with the camera, such as a photo editing app, to add it to the stack for quick access.

Manage the Stack:  Swiping on the widget icon will now reveal the stack of both apps on your home screen, providing consolidated access to your essential photography tools.

Refine the Stack (Optional):  For further organization, long press on the widget stack and select "Edit Stack" to manage the apps within it. You can add, remove, or rearrange them as desired.
