Today in our publication we show you step by step How to solve the problem that the Microsoft account keeps asking for the password.

This may mean that Microsoft's security team has flagged your account and is investigating it in case your password is being asked for more than once a day. Issues with browser cookies, sync, two-factor authentication, conflicts with third-party applications, security flags, and out-of-date or corrupted credentials are the most common causes.

This error can occur nearly any time you sign in to your Microsoft account. What this means is that you are signed in with your Microsoft account on a Windows PC, in an app like Outlook, or in the Edge web browser amongst other places.

The Microsoft Account password prompt continues to appear.

If you're having trouble signing in to your Microsoft account, try the following:

Delete all saved information

Display the Account Sign-in, Security and Everything else

Sign in to your Windows account once again.

Sign out your Microsoft account

The passwords have to be typed correctly

.

"1] No history"

From the context menu, select, and launch a Repair without initiating it at all until you have deleted the cache and cookies on your browser, Outlook, One Note, or application whose cache is giving the issue

.

Restart your router after performing this and see if that resolved your issue.

2. Check Account Security Preferences

Go through the security of your Microsoft Account and sign in. Check the recent unusual sign-ins that have occurred. For devices or applications that do not support 2FA, make sure app-specific passwords are turned on.

Check your Microsoft Account settings

Make sure to review the App and Service section and the app access.

It is advisable that you delete anything that raises an eyebrow.

3. Go back into your Windows account and add it again.

After you re-authenticate your account by linking it to your PC, this issue should not appear anymore.

In order to disconnect your one and only Microsoft account from your PC, you have to create a local account first before deleting the existing one. You then have to re-add it afterwards to see if the mistake is still there. You have to make sure you create a backup before proceeding with this because this will clear all the data on the computer.

After logging in with the Local account, open Settings > Accounts > Other Users on your Windows PC. Expand the Microsoft account and click the Remove button. Restart your computer with default settings. This time, sign in with your Microsoft account by adding it using the Add account feature. You can re-add your Microsoft account after you have removed it.

4. Microsoft account password reset

Resetting the password at accounts.microsoft.com after logging in with your account is the recommended course of action if the previous methods fail.

If these solutions do not work for you, reach out to Microsoft Support. They can then tell if the problem is more systemic to your account or their services.

It keeps asking me to reset my password in my Microsoft Account.

There are a few things that can cause a Microsoft account to prompt repeatedly for a password change.

If you use your Microsoft account at work or school, your organization may enforce a policy that requires you to change your password after a certain amount of time.

Multiple Consecutive Login Attempts from Unknown Devices or Locations: For security reasons, the account may be flagged for review based on login attempts from unusual devices or locations.

Data Retrieval Outdated: If your security information (email or phone number) is incomplete or outdated, you might need to reset your password.

Microsoft Account is requesting code.

If you have enabled 2FA on your account, you will be asked for a code every time you sign in from an untrusted device. You have two options:

When asked for a code, mark your device as trusted. When prompted, select "Don't ask me again on this device" (if it's an option). To save this change, make sure your browser allows cookies.

Go into your account settings and disable two-factor authentication if it's not absolutely necessary. Main accounts should not use it, though.

That's all for today; we hope you can solve the problem with your Microsoft account. Good luck, see you later.
