You then have to re-add it afterwards to see if the mistake is still there. You have to make sure you create a backup before proceeding with this because this will clear all the data on the computer.
After logging in with the Local account, open Settings > Accounts > Other Users on your Windows PC. Expand the Microsoft account and click the Remove button. Restart your computer with default settings. This time, sign in with your Microsoft account by adding it using the Add account feature. You can re-add your Microsoft account after you have removed it.

4. Microsoft account password reset
Resetting the password at accounts.microsoft.com after logging in with your account is the recommended course of action if the previous methods fail.
