How to change car colors in Cyberpunk 2077

Finally, with version 2.2, Cyberpunk 2077 has reached a point where vehicle customization, which was long requested, is possible. Most of your vehicles will let you change their paint jobs for free. Not only that-you can even save your preferred color schemes and apply them to any of your personalizable cars.

This guide will easily show you how to change the color of cars in Cyberpunk 2077.

A walkthrough of Cyberpunk 2077's vehicle color customization system

With the latest update, you can now choose the color of some cars once you own them. Some of those are Herrera, Mizutani, Quadra, and Villefort. Once you finally get your hands on them, you'll notice an orange paint sign. Once you board one of these vehicles summoned from a Ripperdoc or vehicle tuning station, you'll notice the sign appearing in the bottom left corner of your screen.

To do so, simply press the appropriate input (usually Y on keyboards and mice). It opens up a series of colored circles. You can select your favorite color by dragging the pointer over them. At that point, the vehicle will animate while changing its color to the scheme you chose.

All the modifiable vehicles' color schemes can be saved for later use. Remember, not all of the vehicles can support numerous circles of color. For example, if you save a Gold and Black scheme but the automobile you applied it to can only support one color at a time, it will automatically paint itself with either the Gold or Black color.

Once the first act of the story is complete, customization options open up. When riding solo, Johnny Silverhand would occasionally comment on your driving skills from the passenger seat in your car.

Things to keep in mind that are restricted

Quest Vehicles: You cannot change the color of cars linked to quests.

Police cars aren't available for NCPD vehicle customization.

Not All Vehicles Are Compatible: CrystalCoatTM and TWINTONETM technologies may not work with all vehicles.

Changing the color of your car can lower your NCPD Wanted Level, making you less visible to the police. If you want to blend in and stay undetected following a chase, try getting a new coat of paint.
