How to stop LinkedIn from training its AI on your data

Even LinkedIn is racing to be the first big internet company to deploy artificial intelligence. Because of this, many of its members are concerned that the company may use their data-mostly their posts, conversations, and profile details-to train its artificial intelligence algorithms. Contrary to that, LinkedIn actually gives you an option as to whether the company should use your data in training its AI or not. Allow me to guide you through.

How do you stop LinkedIn from using your data to train its AI?

It's more than likely that LinkedIn has started automatically taking your data to use in training its AI, but the following steps will still let you control how much of that data is used:

Log into your LinkedIn account via Linkedin.com.

Click your profile picture to get into your settings and privacy for your profile.

Click Data Privacy in the sidebar menu. To do this on a mobile device, you'd need to first enter the Settings menu.

The second step will be to toggle the Data for Generative AI Improvement option to off.

By turning this off, you are limiting LinkedIn and its partners from using your information in building generative AI models.

Notice: If you are in Europe or some other region and it is not there, be not alarmed. Because of the very strict laws around data privacy and consent, LinkedIn may be unable to use your data for AI uses.
