Inside Lana's childhood home, the basement can be unlocked with the Red Key. If you're looking for this location inside, you'll need to head outside. From the main entrance of the home, leave and head right until you see two opening doors to the basement.
Opening this hatch will show you a red-keyed door to unlock. Once inside, you'll notice most of the shelf and crate spaces dusty, but hidden away in the right corner you'll be able to find Lana's journal. Find the diary on the floor in the cabinet against the wall, and take it with you back to her bedroom where you can place it.
Even though you will require all six for Lana's Dress to Impress tasks, finding the red key is a chore unto itself. That won't improve the fact that there is a monster in your way. Until you reach the second chapter of the story, you won't have to stress too much—the toughest part is getting it.
