Keep reading because today we are going to tell you How to Fix "Pardon The Interruption" Microsoft Store Error, so stay tuned.
Connectivity problems or system updates are the usual causes of this "Pardon The Interruption" error message that pops up when one tries to make a purchase through the Microsoft Store. The most common cause for this issue to pop up is an out-of-date operating system or an older version of the Microsoft Store. This may also occur due to network misconfiguration, including VPN and proxy settings, or corruption in application cache.
This problem can also be exacerbated by updates from Windows or particular store-specific issues. So, to approach this problem, the customers who experience this should first make sure that Windows and apps from the Microsoft Store are updated. We have collected some efficient methods that will solve this problem, regardless of its origin. Namely, these are:
1. Clear Microsoft Store Cache
As time goes on, the Microsoft Store continues to store configuration data of the user, cache, and settings, which after some time becomes corrupted or outdated. In case the store is capable of resetting or repairing it, it cleans up those corrupted files and the wrong settings so that it can make a fresh start. So doing will also fix issues that might have been caused by wrong and outdated settings, temporary data, and cached files in conflict affecting the app's performance.
Pressing the Windows key with R opens the Run dialog box.
Hit the Enter key upon typing wsreset.exe. This command deletes the Microsoft Store cache safely with no loss of apps or user data you may have installed.
After a brief stint of a command prompt blinking empty window, the Microsoft Store will pop back up, and that means the cache has been cleared.
Press Windows + I to access the Settings menu.
Select Apps.
On the right side, select the System Components.
Find the Microsoft Store.
Click on it to open its advanced settings.
Look for the Repair button; if so, click on it. The shop will be repaired because it would fix corrupted files or settings.
When ready, click Reset. A prompt will appear confirming the deletion of the app's data. Confirm that you want to reset it.
Finally, restart the computer and check if the problem persists.
2. Check for Windows Updates
Certain critical system files rely on Windows to keep the Microsoft Store functioning. If your OS is outdated, that store might have problems interoperating with other services, such as Windows Update, or even the framework where the applications created by Microsoft are executed. That could be even worse in the case of such outdated system files failing while applying essential upgrades or bug fixes, not to mention security patches.
Open the Settings by pressing Windows + I.
Click on the Update & Security button.
You will notice that, on the left side, it says Windows Update.
Click "Check for updates". Windows will automatically download and install any available updates.
When that's done, reboot your computer, even when Windows does not ask you to do so.
Third is to use PowerShell to reinstall Microsoft Store.
It can be resolved sometimes by reinstalling it from PowerShell when the Store would simply not run, would not update, or would not download any apps. By reinstalling Microsoft Store through PowerShell, you will be certain that all of the files are updated and that the installation is done successfully. This will uninstall the app entirely.
Select Windows PowerShell (Admin) using the keys Windows + X.
To reinstall the Microsoft Store, open PowerShell and execute the following command. Run this command for each application in the Windows Store: Get-AppXPackage | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register \\\"$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml\\\"}
When the script is executed, PowerShell will reinstall the Microsoft Store. If there's an error, reboot your computer and attempt to run the command again.
Finally, reboot your computer to check whether the issue persists or not.
Four. Switch off your proxy or VPN
Another likely culprit for this issue is the instances where proxies or VPNs are installed. These applications mask or alter the IP address of your device, as well as network settings, interfering with the Store's capability to establish a reliable and secure connection with the Microsoft Store servers. To that effect, disable any VPNs and proxies with the intent of ruling out issues that stem from geolocation conflicts and network issues.
Turn off the VPN
Locate your VPN application and close or turn off the VPN connection if you are using any.
Alternatively, you can open the Settings by using Windows key with an icon.
Then, click on Network & Internet.
Now select VPN from the left pane, and disconnect or remove any connected VPN connection. Turn Off Proxy
From here, press the Windows key along with the icon again to open the Settings menu.
Go to the Network & Internet section.
From the left pane, click on Proxy.
Under the tab Manual Proxy Settings, locate the option Use a proxy server. Toggle this off.
Once you have turned off your VPN and proxy, restart your computer and check to see if the issue persists.
