How to Unlock Fishing

You'll begin your fishing quest by going through the campaign, in which you meet a seasoned fisherman named Marnix who teaches the ways of fishing. Once his quest is complete, he rewards you with a fishing rod and the key to learning fishing.

Open the Codex menu any time for a quick view of how much longer it will take for you to unlock it, then click on the Activities tab. On the "Fishing Tasks" card, you get to see how many more tasks you have to complete before unlocking fishing. After these requirements are met, you will be allowed to throw your line into lakes across the game world.

How to Catch a Fish

Approach a fishing spot and an icon of a fishing rod will appear on the right-hand side of the screen. Tap it to throw your line. Every time you have a successful catch, a bait will be consumed, which can be restocked by buying from the fishermen.

Caught fishes can be cooked into dishes or turned into stat-enhancing accessories, used in special cooking recipes, or sold to the NPCs of Mondstadt and other regions for Mora.

Fishing Locations

This will take you through very different fishing trips in Diablo Immortal-from Ashwold Cemetery to Frozen Tundra and Bilfen. Each area has its unique species of fish, which, in total, sum up to 40 species one can find.

Catch your first 35 fish and fill in 1/3 of your Angler's Log to expand your fishing arsenal. This achievement will unlock the Lancewood and Glimmerwood fishing rods, purely cosmetic items meant to enhance your fishing experience without changing catch rate or efficiency.
