Today we will show you how to delete multiple images in iMessage in the easiest way.

Previously, you could easily delete multiple images by tapping the (i) icon, holding down the "More" option, and selecting several or all of the images you wanted to delete. But now by default, you will need to delete and confirm each photo or image in iMessage. Frustrating, when you have been used to this function for a long time.

However, Apple decided to change this feature, for good reason. Although some may find it difficult to cope with the changes, they can easily accept them once the new efficient way is explained to them. Below we explain more about this so continue reading:

How to Delete Multiple Images in iMessage

Managing image attachments within iMessage conversations is crucial for optimizing storage space and maintaining organization. While there's no direct multi-select option for photos within conversations, here are two refined methods to achieve this effectively:

Method 1: Leveraging the Info Menu

Access the Conversation: Locate the iMessage conversation containing the images you wish to delete.

Contact Information: Tap the contact's name or icon displayed at the top of the message thread.

Info Menu: Select the "i" (info) icon to access detailed conversation settings.

Photos Management: Scroll down and tap on the "Photos" section.

View All Photos: Choose the "See All Photos" option to display all images within the conversation.

Multi-Select Activation: Tap "Select" in the top right corner, enabling the selection of multiple photos.

Precise Selection: Carefully select the specific photos you intend to delete.

Deletion Confirmation: Once satisfied with your selection, tap the trash can icon in the bottom left corner to permanently delete the chosen images.

Method 2: Targeting Large Attachments (for Devices with Ample Storage)

Settings Access: Open the Settings application on your iPhone or iPad.

Storage Management: Navigate to "General" settings, followed by "iPhone Storage" (or "iPad Storage" depending on your device).

iMessage Storage Details: Locate "Messages" within the list of applications and tap on it to view detailed storage usage.

Reviewing Large Files: Under the "Messages" storage breakdown, you'll find a section labeled "Review Large Attachments." This section prioritizes the largest files, allowing you to focus on storage-consuming images.

Individual Selection: Select the specific photo or video you wish to delete from the list.

Permanent Removal: Tap "Delete" to confirm the deletion of the chosen image attachment.

Additional Considerations:

Deleting photos from Messages also removes them from your Photos app if you have them synced through iCloud Photos.

This second method is particularly useful for quickly removing large image files that are taking up significant storage space, especially if you don't require them elsewhere on your device.

By implementing these refined methods, you can effectively manage photo attachments in iMessage conversations, ensuring optimal storage usage and an optimized communication experience.
