How to Play Craps Dice Game

The Craps dice game is played on a craps table with two dice. There are several rules and bets that can feel intimidating to new players, but the fun of the game means that knowledge of these is worth the effort.  In addition, online casinos will offer free demo sites where you can test knowledge before playing with real cash.
The game of Craps also has good odds, with a house edge from just 2 per cent, though this can rise to 17 per cent so choose the lowest edge you can find. The house edge is lower than both roulette and blackjack which means the craps game is better, particularly for those playing with just a basic strategy. Learning all the betting rules over time will also make the game even more exciting.

How to play Craps

The craps table can have up to 20 players, who each get a round of throwing the dice, although a player can choose not to roll but is still able to bet. To begin, the player rolling the two dice must bet at least the table minimum before the game of Craps begins with a come-out roll.  This is the first roll of the dice or the first one after the previous betting round has finished. The player who throws the dice is called the 'shooter'.  The shooter takes two dice and throws them on the Craps table. Online casinos have players press a roll button.

Natural

When you roll a 7 or an 11, this is known as a natural and means that you win a pass line bet and get to roll the dice again.

Craps

If you roll a 2, 3, or 12 you lose a pass line bet, but the round is not over and you roll the dice again.
Point
The shooter continues to make Come Out rolls until they roll a 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, or 10, which number becomes the Point. When the player gets a point, they roll the dice again and hope to get the same number again, though it only has to be the same total, it does not have to be the same combination as before. If you do this, you win on the pass line. However, if the shooter rolls a 7 they lose and end the betting round called being “seven out”.
If the current shooter does make a Point, he begins the new Come Out roll. If the shooter fails to make a point, the dice are then offered to the next player, clockwise around the table, for a new Come Out roll and the game continues in the same way.

Craps table

A craps table is divided into three areas - two side areas separated by a central area. Each side area contains Pass and Don't Pass line bets, Come and Don't Come bets, Odds bet, Place bets and Field bets. The centre area contains the Proposition bets. You can make these bets before a point has been established on the table.

Betting on craps

Pass Line bets are the most common bet in Craps. Come bets work in reverse to Pass Line bets and with propositional betting also an option, craps offers multiple opportunities to punters.  -
