Gambling Adverts that Made Us Laugh

Juggling stringent gambling advertisement laws while also trying to make these adverts funny and memorable is not easy. It requires some of the most creative marketing and compliance brains to come together to make them work. There have been some fantastic adverts in the industry. And some that have been pulled and companies slapped with fines for bending the rules. Today we'll concentrate on the former. Here are three of the best gambling ads of the decade.

Remember these Funny Gambling Ads?

1.    PartyCasino

PartyCasino is an online casino owned by Entain, a gaming group that also owns some of the biggest bookmakers in Europe. Their adverts tend to be short, but they strike the right tones. One of their flagship ads highlighted the 24/7 accessibility of PartyCasino, stating how you can strike a balance between your other leisurely activities and playing casino games. The character in the ad was a man working out in his kitchen while playing from his mobile. Donning his pink socks and small weight, he is quite the sight.

2.    Ladbrokes

Ladbrokes have had some of the funniest gambling ads ever with their series of Kamara and the screaming man popping up in multiple ads. But one of the best is when Ally McCoist, Ian Wright and Chris Kamara play the roles of workmen in a café discussing who will win the league this year. The working-class portrayal quickly turns to mocking each other’s hair – or lack thereof – before the waitress mocks them for thinking Newcastle have a chance. It’s relatable to football fans in bars and at work across the country, and the cast makes you laugh before they even speak.

3.    Foxy Bingo

Foxy Bingo is an online gambling platform exclusively offering bingo games. They've been around for over a decade, and one of their best adverts is a little cheeky. The advert includes a smartly dressed fox walking down the road gaining all the attention, even from resurrecting men in coffins. Everyone starts following him down the street, including ducks from a pet shop, while Sister Sledge's We Are Family plays in the background. One of the funniest parts of the ad, which also includes a bingo reference, is when two larger ladies follow him with the number eight on each of their tops.
Who knew the ads could be such good entertainment?

Gambling Advertisement Laws

Advertisement laws in the UK and abroad have stricter rules when it comes to gambling. For example, in the UK, a gambling advert must not include anything that would appeal to underage gamblers, such as include characters or celebrity figures someone under 18 would heavily relate to. Adverts can't even have people under the legal age to gamble, and some call for them to only be aired at certain times of the day. Many casino and bookmaker adverts have fallen victim to these stringent laws, often resulting in the ad being taken down and hefty fines.  -
